A Message from Your Principal

Greetings, Walton Families and Community:

July 1, 2016 is my first day on the job as principal of Walton Middle School I have had the privilege of learning about and serving the Walton community for the past two years as assistant principal and I am thrilled to know serve as principal. It truly is an honor to have this opportunity to lead such an amazing community here at Walton. Our mix of rural and suburban students, the excitement of our truly innovative learning environment, and the high performance standards we have for one another all make our school unique and exciting.

We have an award-winning Global Virtual Classroom, a highly progressive special education program that will add to its resources and support services next year, a broad range of state-of-the-art career and technical education options that emphasize our contemporary project-based learning model, and highly-acclaimed visual and performing arts programs. Most of all, we have highly talented and dedicated staff who put our students at the center of the learning process and a community that is wonderfully supportive of our goal of preparing students for high school, college, and career success.

We have so many opportunities before us in 2016 and 2017. I look forward to getting to know the Walton community better working with its members to protect and grow our most precious investment—the children we serve.
Be sure to check back regularly for updates on summer planning, summer school, and coming opportunities for the 2016-2017 school year.

Have a safe and joyful summer,

Josh Walton

A pic from the Rocket Festival at the end of May. Students excited about their hard work paying off is an amazing thing to watch. Here two sixth graders chase their successful rocket as it lands.
